Sanctuary Choir
This is the premier performing group of the Music Ministry. It is composed of church members ages 18 and above. The choir rehearses each Wednesday night from 7:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. They perform a Christmas Cantata and an Easter Musical plus additional specials throughout the year. The Sanctuary Choir sings each Sunday morning during worship service.
Destination Known
A music group composed of several girls from our Youth Group. Destination Known has performed at many events and conferences across the Southeast.
Music Makers Choir (Ages 4-Grade 2), Wednesdays 6:30-7:00 p.m.
This is the beginning choir which introduces children to a love of music and praising Jesus in song. The choir plays rhythm instruments, learns to sing and learns songs about Jesus. They perform during the worship service on several occasions throughout the year and present a musical production once a year. This year, our Music Makers Choir and Young Musicians will perform the musical "Race to Win" on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. We've already begun practice and we welcome your child to come and join in the fun!
Young Musicians (Grade 3-Grade 6), Wednesdays 7:00-7:30 p.m.
This group of musicians begins to learn music theory, explore different instruments and sing, sing, sing! They perform during worship service several times a year and present a musical production once a year.
Dolce Voce
(Girls Grades 4, 5, 6), 2nd, 3rd, 4th Wednesdays 5:30-6:20 p.m.
This newly developed ensemble for girls, appropriately called "Dolce Voce" meaning Sweet Voices in Italian, will meet in the Choir Room with Mrs. Jo where they will have a devotional, music theory lesson and of course, sing! Their accompaniment will include CDs, piano, flute, and other live instruments. We are very excited to have this new venue to sing praises to Jesus!
Three 4 Thee
Our ladies trio composed of Molly Meigs, Linda Conklan and Jo Russell.
TMJ (The Men & Jo)
This group is formed from the men in the Sanctuary Choir and their needed "extra" part, Jo Russell. This group rehearses after choir practice on Wednesday nights.
"Joyful Noise" Choir
This choir is an outgrowth of the Senior Adult Ministry, Joyful Hearts. They rehearse the 1st Tuesday in each month at 9:00 a.m. To participate in this choir, you must be 50-years-old or older and must want to share your "Joyful Noise"! This group performs in church occasionally and performs a musical production each year. It is mainly a fun way to praise Jesus and fellowship with each other.
The Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir is composed of 8 adult members with the ability to read music and a desire to provide an additional way to worship through music. The rehearsal schedule is TBD.
The Stripling/Jones Hands Choir
This very unique musical group is composed of members who have a knowledge of sign language. It is dedicated to the memory of Mr. Thad Stripling and Ricky Jones who were hearing impaired members of Brent Baptist Church. Mrs. Judy Cearlock is the director of this choir and rehearsals are as needed.
