Upward
Registration for Upward Basketball and Football will begin soon. Upward is more than a game; it is a unique Christian outreach of Brent Baptist Church, along with the volunteer support of several other area churches. The goal of Upward is to introduce children to Christ by creating ministry opportunities through sports. Each child participates in several devotions and is presented the gospel message during the season, as well as developing the athletic skill to progress to the next level of play. One of the key principles of Upward is the expectation of God moments, where we see God moving the lives of participants.
Creating the Upward experience requires devotion leaders, prayer warriors, coaches, referees, stage hands, concession volunteers, clean up crews, and several other important roles. There is a place for you to participate no matter your age or how much time you have to give. Whether you have children participating or not, you will find great satisfaction in being part of this ministry.
The Upward experience also requires players. The more we have, the more complete the experience can be, as we are able to create a wider variety of divisions based on age and gender. You can help by actively encouraging friends and family members to be involved.
Do you have 2 hours per week to contribute? One hour? Even if you only have 5 minutes to give, there is a place for you. This is a big ministry and it takes a big church with a big heart for sharing Christ with children. Is God leading you to get involved?
